An established multi-trade contractor in Toowoomba, working across electrical and refrigeration, is looking for a refrigeration technician. They are known locally for a do-it-properly standard of workmanship and a premium, professional service - this is not a high-turnover outfit, they are building a long-term team.
Work is local. Minimal away-from-home travel is a deliberate part of how the business runs. You sleep in your own bed.
The work
A mix of commercial, industrial and residential refrigeration and air conditioning. You will be expected to carry yourself as a premium-brand technician - presentation, communication, paperwork and punctuality matter here as much as what you can do with a set of gauges. The refrigeration side includes an on-call roster; frequency and rate to be confirmed.
What you will need
- Trade-qualified refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic
- Comfortable in commercial and industrial environments
- A strong client-facing manner - this business sells trust and professionalism, not just call-outs
- A high standard of paperwork and compliance discipline
- Simpro or similar job management system experience highly regarded
- A calm, mature attitude - low tolerance for ego or drama
- Genuinely after a long-term role, not a stepping stone
What is on offer
- $45-65 per hour depending on experience
- 9-day fortnight
- Sign-on and retention bonuses of up to $20,000 in your first year: $5,000 on accepting and returning your contract, $5,000 at six months, $10,000 at twelve months subject to performance and tenure
